Dear ICOMOM member,
Dear ICOMON friend,
The National Bank of Serbia has the great pleasure to welcome you to the XXI ICOMON Annual Meeting which will be held in Belgrade from 1 to 4 July 2014.
The meeting is held in the year when the National Bank of Serbia celebrates its 130th and the Visitor Centre its 10th anniversary.
The meeting is based around the topical theme Money and Banking Museums: Raising Heritage and Financial Education Awareness and will no doubt arouse interest among participants given the importance of the topic. The sub-theme Civic Education Comes before Financial Literacy and Results in Financial Culture is of particular importance as youth is the backbone of a country and can play a vital role in its progress. The joint exhibiton Educate to Win is the opportunity to present similar activities but from the perspective of different countries and their own priorities.
This conference will be the occasion to discuss and exchange experiences and ideas and to present new opportunities within Money and Banking Musems. The common goal is to contribute to raising national and international public’s awareness of the importance of education in the field of heritage and financial literacy.
Held for the first time in South-East Europe and to our greatest honour in Serbia, we hope that this meeting will also be an opportunity for participants to get acquainted with the richness and tradition of Serbian cultural heritage.
Wishing you all a successfull meeting,
Ms Lana Krunić
Head of Communications Division
